Automatic transmission
For cars with management of the cruiser mode – when using the regulator of the cruiser mode even if to include the lowering transfer by means of the switch of the raising transfer, braking by the engine will not work as management of the cruiser mode is not cancelled.
Normal driving
Start the engine. Transmission has to be established in situation "P" or "N".
Pressing a leg a brake pedal, switch the voter's lever to situation "D" – the system of automatic transmission will choose the most suitable transfer for operating conditions as, for example, an ordinary cruise, rise uphill, heavy towage and further. Always turn on the switch of the raising transfer for the best economy of fuel and more silent driving. If temperature of cooling liquid of the engine is too low, transmission will not switch to the raising transfer at turning on of the switch of the raising transfer.
Prevention
Release the parking brake and a brake pedal. Slowly press an accelerator pedal for a smooth start of motion.
Braking use by the engine
For use of braking from the engine you can include the lowering transfer of transmission as follows:
Switch off the switch of the raising transfer. Turn on the light indicator "O/D OFF", and transmission will switch to the lowering third transfer.
Switch to situation "2". The transmission will switch to the lowering second transfer when falling speed to or below given here, and will be received big efficiency from braking by the engine.

Use of provisions "2" and "L"
Provisions "2" and "L" are used for strong braking by the engine as it was already described.
At installation of the lever it is chosen in situation "2" or "L". It is also possible to begin driving of the car, as well as at the lever in situation "D".
At installation of the lever of the voter in situation "2" the car will begin the movement with the first transfer and will automatically switch to the second transfer.
When the lever of the voter is installed in situation "L", transmission will be included on the first transfer.
Movement back
Completely stop the car.
Parking
Completely stop the car. Attract the lever of the parking brake completely up for reliable involvement of the parking brake. Pressing a brake pedal down, install the voter's lever in situation "P".
Prevention
Rocking of the car if it got stuck
If the car got stuck in snow, dirt, sand, etc., can try to shake it, moving forward and back. Do not try to perform this procedure in case near the car there are people or any objects.
If the light indicator "O/D OFF" blinks
Contact the dealer of Toyota as soon as possible. Perhaps, there is a problem in system of transmission.
