| GENERAL INFORMATION |
Function of management of the cruiser mode allows to conduct the car at a desirable speed over 40 km/h even if to take away a leg from an accelerator pedal.
Cruiser speed can be supported at higher or low level within the characteristic of the engine though little change of speed can happen upon transition to the raising or lowering transfer. On steep slopes there can be a bigger change of speed therefore it is better to conduct the car, without resorting to the cruiser mode.
Prevention
Avoid increase in speed at the movement down descent. If car speed too bystry in connection with installation of the cruiser mode, cancel its function and pass to the lowering transfer for braking use with the engine for the purpose of delay.
Inclusion of system
For control of the regulator of the cruiser mode press the CRUISE ON*OFF button. At the same time the system will join. The light indicator on the dashboard will show that now it is possible to establish the desirable cruiser speed of the car. By the second pressing the system will be switched completely off.
Installation of desirable speed
On cars with the automatic transmission before establishing the speed of the cruiser mode, it is necessary to install the transmission in situation "D".
Establish desirable speed on the car, press the regulator in the direction of "SET/COAST" down and release it. At the same time the desirable speed of the car will be established. If speed is not satisfactory, move the lever for more bystry speed up or move for lower speed down. Each switching changes installation of speed to 1,6 km/h. Now it is possible to take away a leg from an accelerator pedal.
If acceleration is required – for example, when overtaking – press an accelerator pedal with a sufficient force to exceed the established speed. When release it, the car will return to the speed established before acceleration performance.
Prevention
When driving the car with the switched-on regulator of the cruiser mode do not carry out switching to neutral transfer without pressing of a pedal of coupling as it can lead to operation of the engine racing or to excess of number of its turns.
Cancellation of previously established speed
You can cancel previously established car speed:
– having pulled the lever in the direction of "CANCEL" and having released it;
– having pressed a brake pedal;
– having pressed a coupling pedal (the transmission with manual switching).
If the speed of the car becomes less than 40 km/h, previously established speed will be automatically cancelled. If the speed of the car falls lower than 16 km/h from previously established speed, then previously established speed will be also automatically cancelled. If previously established speed is automatically cancelled in other cases differing from listed above, check the car at the dealer of Toyota.
Return to higher speedPress the lever in the direction of "RES/ACC" up and take it in this situation. Release the lever when desirable speed is reached. While the lever will be pressed, the car will gradually gather speed. But it is to return rather to higher speed, it is necessary to accelerate the car course, and then to press the lever down in the direction of "SET/COAST".
Return to lower speed
Press the lever in the direction of "SET/COAST" down and take it in this situation. Release the lever when desirable speed is reached. Until the lever is pressed, the car will gradually reduce speed. But it is to return rather to lower speed, it is necessary to reduce speed of the car, and then to press the lever down in the direction of "SET/COAST". On cars with the automatic transmission even if to switch off the raising transfer at the switched-on regulator of the cruiser mode, braking by the engine will not be carried out because the cruiser mode is not cancelled. For reduction of speed of the car return to slower speed by means of the lever of the regulator of the cruiser mode or pressing of a brake pedal. If you use a brake pedal, the regulator of the cruiser mode will be cancelled.
Renewal of previously established speed
If previously established speed was cancelled by means of switching of the lever of the regulator, or pressing of a brake pedal or a pedal of coupling, then when pressing the lever up in the direction of "RES/ACC" the speed established before cancellation will be restored. But if the speed of the car falls lower than 40 km/h, previously established speed will not be resumed.
The warning signal
If the light CRUISE indicator on the dashboard blinks when using the regulator of the cruiser mode, press the CRUISE ON*OFF button for switching off of system, and then press the button for inclusion of system again. If there is one of the following actions, in system of the cruiser mode there are malfunctions:
– the light indicator is not highlighted;
– the light indicator blinks again;
– the light indicator dies away after highlighting.
