If the index of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine signals about an overheat, you feel loss of power or hear a loud detonation, the hooting noise, – that the engine is probably overheated. It is necessary to execute the following.
Carefully move down after the journey, stop the car and include the emergency blinking signals. Establish transmission in situation "P" (automatic transmissions) or neutral (the transmission with manual switching) and involve the parking brake. Switch off the air conditioner if it is used.
If cooling liquid or steam are evaporated from a radiator or from a tank, stop the engine. Wait until evaporation stops before opening of a cowl. If cooling liquid does not boil and does not evaporate, leave the engine working and be convinced that the electric cooling fan works. If is not present, then switch off ignition.
Prevention
After fall of temperature of cooling liquid of the engine to normal check the level of cooling liquid in a tank again. If it is required, again fill it to a half. Serious reduction of cooling liquid indicates existence of leak in system. It is necessary to check as soon as possible.
