10.1. Introduction
| GENERAL INFORMATION |
Brakes of the considered cars are equipped with a double-circuit hydraulic actuator of brakes of forward and back wheels. Forward brakes disk, back brakes – disk or drum.
Brakes are equipped with system of automatic adjustment of a gap in blocks (with a disk or a drum). In drum brakes the system of automatic adjustment works at turning on of the parking brake.
Hydraulic actuator of brakes
Hydraulic actuator of brakes double-circuit (separate on forward and back wheels). The nutritious tank of brakes is divided into two sections, on one for each contour. In addition are a part of a hydraulic actuator the double dosing valve providing alignment braking of forward and back wheels (it is located on a partition of a motor compartment).
Vacuum amplifier
It is mounted on a partition of a motor compartment and provides increase in effort to a brake pedal due to the depression created in an inlet collector of the engine.
Parking brake
The parking brake has the hummock drive on back wheels, turns on the lever (on the Camry and Camry Solara models), or a pedal (Avalon model). The lever settles down on the central floor panel of forward facing of salon, the pedal is mounted on the left mudguard of a body in salon.
Care of brakes
After performance of the repair interfaced to dismantling of brakes check their work, moving on the smooth flat road. When braking the car should not leave aside, braking has to be smooth. Brakes are checked by smooth and sharp braking at different speeds of the movement, avoiding, however, full blocking of wheels to exclude slipping of tires on a paving. Efficiency of braking of the considered cars is also influenced by a condition of tires, loading of the car and correctness of adjustment of angles of installation of wheels.
