Check of operation of the vacuum amplifier

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Press several times a brake pedal on the idle engine. The pedal course by each pressing should not change.
2. Press a pedal and start the engine, – on the serviceable amplifier the pedal of a brake has to be displaced a little forward.

Tightness check

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Start the engine, 1–2 min. later stop. Slowly press a pedal several times. On the serviceable amplifier the pedal course with each pressing has to decrease gradually.
2. Start the engine and press a pedal. Holding a pedal of pressed, stop the engine, – during 30 sec. after a stop the provision of a pedal should not change.

If the amplifier is faulty, then he will lie down to replacement, repair of the unit is impossible even in the conditions of car service.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the main cylinder (see subsection 10.9.).
2. Remove a tank for catching of vapors of gasoline (see subsection 7.2.20.).
3. Remove the air filter (see subsection 6.11.).
4. Carefully disconnect a vacuum hose from the amplifier.
5. Working in salon, remove a casing of a steering column (see subsection 11.24.).
6. Having illuminated a lamp, find a fork of a pusher of the vacuum amplifier in the place of fastening on a brake pedal. Rasshplintuyte also get a fork axis.
7. Turn off four nuts of fastening of the amplifier of brakes to a partition of a motor compartment.
8. Give the amplifier and remove when hairpins leave openings in a partition.

Installation

Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal.

If the new unit is installed, then adjust a gap between a pusher of the main cylinder of a brake and a pusher of the amplifier. For this purpose execute the following.

3. Measure distance from an end face of the main cylinder to the flange plane. It is the size B.
4. Measure distance from an end face of the main cylinder to the bottom of dredging of the piston. It is the size C.

8. Upon termination of install the main cylinder, attach tubes, adjust height of a pedal and a free wheeling. Remove air from a hydraulic actuator.
