Check
Examine driving belts on all length on both sides on existence of cracks or wear tracks.
Wear of a maple belt
|
1. Wear of a side surface
2. Strong attrition of a surface
3. Cracks
4. Stratification
5. The polished surface
6. Pollution by oil
7. Gap |
Wear of a ridge belt
|
1. Admissible wear
2. Cross cracks on belt edges
3. Unacceptable wear
4. There are no adjacent sites of edges of a belt more than 1 cm long
5. Cracks parallel to belt edges |
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
Measure a tension of belts by means of special measuring tools and compare the obtained data with technical characteristics. If you have no special tool, check a tension, having pressed on a belt in the middle between two pulleys and having measured a belt deviation. The belt has to deviate on 6 mm if the distance between centers of pulleys makes 18–28 cm. The belt has to deviate on 12 mm if distance of pulleys of 30-40 cm between centers. |
|
Measurement of a deviation of a belt by means of a ruler
|
1. Belt deviation
2. Check that the ruler was perpendicular to a lath
3. Lath
4. Ruler |
Adjustment of a tension
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
|
1. For adjustment of a tension of the driving generator and the compressor, weaken a hinged bolt (A) of the generator in the left forward corner of the block of cylinders. Weaken a lock bolt and turn an adjusting bolt (V) clockwise to pull a belt or counterclockwise to weaken. Measure a belt tension. If necessary carry out repeated adjustment. |
2. For adjustment of a tension of a driving belt of the pump of system of hydrostrengthening of steering, weaken an adjusting bolt and turn the pump towards the engine or on the contrary to weaken or increase a belt tension respectively. |
|
Replacement
PERFORMANCE ORDER |
Weaken a tension of a driving belt and remove it from pulleys. If one belt demands replacement, it is recommended to replace other belts also. |
