2.25. Replacement of cooling liquid and washing of the cooling system

GENERAL INFORMATION

When the cooling system gets littered, and cooling liquid gains rusty color, it is necessary to replace and wash out it the cooling system.

Discharge of cooling liquid

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a radiator cap.

2. Install the pallet under a radiator and open a drain cap of a radiator (it is specified by an arrow) and merge cooling liquid from a radiator.

3. After liquid completely flows down from a radiator, shift the pallet under a drain opening of the engine. Twist a cap and merge cooling liquid from the engine.

4. In four-cylinder engines the drain opening is located in a back part of the block of cylinders (it is specified by an arrow).

5. In the six-cylinder engine drain openings are located on both parties of the block of cylinders.

6. If cooling liquid has rusty color, the cooling system needs to be washed out.

Washing of the cooling system

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove the thermostat.

2. Tighten caps of drain openings. Transfer the handle of adjustment of temperature in salon to position of HOT for washing of a heater of an oven together with the cooling system.

3. Disconnect the top hose of a radiator and wash out a radiator clear flowing water or special cleaner. If the radiator is strongly littered, remove a radiator and address experts for its washing and / or repair.

Gulf of cooling liquid

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Install the thermostat into place and connect cooling system hoses.

2. Fill in cooling liquid in a radiator and in a broad tank to the lower mark.

3. Get and warm up the engine.

4. Add liquid in a radiator. Put on a radiator cap.
