7.2.19. System of recirculation

GENERAL INFORMATION

The system is intended for decrease in content of oxides of nitrogen in the fulfilled gases. It is reached by decrease in temperature of burning at redirection of a part of gases in the combustion chamber. A set of devices of system and a procedure for test for 4-and 6-cylinder engines differs a little.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Start the engine, disconnect a hose from the valve and attach the vacuum pump on its place.
2. During creation of depression in the valve operation of the engine has to become unstable, and the indication of the vacuum gage should not fluctuate. Otherwise check purity of the soaking-up collector or replace the valve.

The filter of the operating valve

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove a valve cap.
2. Remove the operating valve and get filters. The rough surface of the external filter has to be turned outside. Blow filters and put into place.

System of recirculation


PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a hose from the valve of recirculation and between the valve and a pneumatic distributor install the vacuum gage.
2. Start the engine and connect conclusions of TE1 and E1 on the diagnostic socket.
At a temperature of engine of 55 °C and 2500 rpm of depression should not be.
On the heated-up engine at 2500 rpm there has to be a small depression.
3. Connect the union R to the soaking-up collector a hose piece. At 2500 rpm there has to be a considerable depression.
4. Check the pneumatic distributor resistance which has to be 33–39 Ohms (see rice. An arrangement of the checked valves of system of recirculation on the 4-cylinder engine). Otherwise replace a pneumatic distributor.

The procedure of check is similar described above for the 4-cylinder engine.

Temperature sensor
PERFORMANCE ORDER

Disconnect the socket (the sensor of temperature of system of recirculation is screwed about an inlet pipe) and check sensor resistance at various temperatures (see subsection 7.2.2.).


Position sensor of the valve of recirculation


PERFORMANCE ORDER
Disconnect the socket and check sensor resistance (see subsection 7.2.2.). For check of resistance of the position sensor of the valve of recirculation connect an ohmmeter to conclusions of E2 and VC.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
Disconnect from the valve a hose and a tube (on V6 engines). See fig. at the left. Turn off bolts (are specified by shooters fig. on the right) and remove the valve.
