GENERAL INFORMATION

The block of safety locks on the Avalon cars is mounted under the dashboard to the left of a steering column.

Block of the relay and safety locks (Solara and Camry)

On the Solara and Camry cars the uniform block of the relay and safety locks is located in a motor compartment. On the Avalon cars blocks of the relay and safety locks separate.

Relay arrangement

Some relays are mounted near a suspension bracket cap from the driver.

On the considered cars of the relay are included in chains of such consumers as units of fuel system, a starter, fog lights, a sound signal. Relays are used to the operated inclusion and shutdown of the silnotochny consumer under the influence of an electric signal of low power. Relays are mounted in assembly blocks in a motor compartment. The relay can be got and checked, the faulty relay is replaced. Marking of the relay is applied on its case or on panels of the assembly block.

On some 4-contact relays there are conclusions with numbers 1,2,3 and 5, however, their appointment just the same, as in the relay with conclusions 1 – 4.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. The most reliable results are yielded by check with use of the scheme of turning on of the relay. If the scheme of inclusion is absent, then execute checks taking into account the following. Couple of conclusions of any relay are connected to the coil providing operation of the relay. Other conclusions become in pairs isolated or disconnected at a coil zapityvaniye. As a rule, distributing of conclusions of the relay is specified on its case.
2. Connect one of relay coil conclusions to a positive conclusion of the battery through a wire with a thin delay as a safety lock. Connect the second conclusion to weight. After connection the click has to be listened. If there is no click, then change polarity of connection (which should be observed on some relays).
3. Check existence of a chain between relay conclusions according to marking on the case.
4. If results of checks negative, then replace with the relay.
