3.1.7. Gas-distributing belt and asterisks

GENERAL INFORMATION

Gas-distributing belt

1. Top cover of a gas-distributing belt
2. Camshaft asterisk
3. Top intermediate pulley
4. Spring
5. Top intermediate pulley
6. Asterisk of the oil pump
7. Asterisk of a bent shaft
8. Guide of a gas-distributing belt
9. Gas-distributing belt
10. Lower cover of a gas-distributing belt
11. Pulley of a bent shaft

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Disconnect a wire of the minus plug of the accumulator.
2. Block back wheels and put the car on the emergency brake.
3. Lift and fix a forward part of the car.
4. Remove the right forward wheel and laying of an arch of a wheel.
5. Remove a broad tank of the cooling system of the engine.
6. Unscrew candles and take off driving belts.
7. Remove the generator and its arm.
8. Establish a support under the engine, remove the right support of the engine and draft regulating engine shift.
9. Unscrew screws of the top cover of a gas-distributing belt and disconnect from it wires. Remove the top cover and laying.
10. Install the N1 piston in the top dead point. Check that the small hole in an asterisk of the camshaft was combined with a synchronizing tag on a cover of the first bearing of a shaft.
11. If you are going to reuse a gas-distributing belt, make adjusting tags (arrows) on it and on asterisks. Designate the direction of rotation of a belt.
12. Weaken a bolt of the top intermediate pulley (shooter) and remove a spring. Take off a belt from a camshaft asterisk. It is not obligatory to take off a belt from an asterisk of a bent shaft if you are going to replace an epiploon of the camshaft or to remove a head of cylinders.
13. If the asterisk of the camshaft is worn-out or damaged, uncover a head of cylinders, stop the camshaft of inlet valves a wrench and unscrew an asterisk bolt. Remove an asterisk.
14. Uncover a viewing opening of a flywheel, and stop a flywheel or a drive plate by means of the big screw-driver. Weaken a bolt of a pulley of a bent shaft.
15. Unscrew a bolt and remove a pulley.
16. Unscrew bolts (shooters) and remove the lower cover of a gas-distributing belt and laying. Remove a belt guide from an asterisk of a bent shaft.
17. If you are going to reuse a gas-distributing belt, make adjusting tags (shooter) on it and on an asterisk.
18. Take off a gas-distributing belt. If the asterisk of a bent shaft is damaged or worn-out or you need to replace a forward epiploon of a bent shaft.
19. Remove an asterisk. She has to act freely.
20. If jammed an asterisk, remove it by means of the special tool.

Check

Damages of a gas-distributing belt

1. Stratification

2. Lack of teeth

3. Wear of a surface

4. Curve of a side part

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove intermediate pulleys and examine their bearings on existence of wear and damages. Examine a spring, check whether its length conforms to technical requirements.
2. If the gas-distributing belt tore, then the reason, perhaps, there was the fact that it was too strongly tense or polluted.
3. If teeth of a belt cracked or are absent in some places whether it is necessary to check jam camshafts or water and oil pumps.
4. If the surface of a belt is strongly worn-out or covered with cracks, check whether there are no scratches or an agnail on surfaces of intermediate pulleys.
5. If the belt is worn-out or damaged only on the one hand, check the directing disk of a belt and correctness of installation of asterisks.
6. If necessary replace a belt, previously having eliminated all malfunctions.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Carefully clean a forward part of the engine.
2. Establish intermediate pulleys and a spring.
3. Check whether synchronizing tags of cranked and distributive shaft are combined.
4. Put on a belt an asterisk of a bent shaft, an asterisk of oil and water pumps and intermediate pulleys. If you put on an old belt, combine the tags made on a belt and on asterisks during removal.
5. Establish a belt guide on a bent shaft (in the drawing. the directing belt disk is shown).
6. Establish the lower cover of a belt and a pulley of a bent shaft.
7. Put on a belt a camshaft asterisk. Pull a forward part of a belt.
8. Weaken a bolt of the top intermediate pulley on a turn floor, slowly turn a bent shaft clockwise on 1 and 7/8 turns, so that the tag on a pulley of a bent shaft was displaced on 45 ° concerning the tag intended for installation of the first piston in the top dead point and located on the lower cover of a belt. Tighten a bolt of an intermediate pulley.
9. Turn a bent shaft on two turns and check whether synchronizing tags are combined.
10. Establish new laying from the pressurizing structure on covers of a gas-distributing belt.
